Product design not only includes the design process and the pursuit of a certain aesthetic; Rather, it stands for research, the critical questioning of problems and systems, well-founded research and convincing argumentations, well thought-out concepts, communicative exchange and fulfilled functions – and that’s exactly what I focus on as a designer.
Sonum
Reducing depression symptoms, promoting relaxation and managing stress using light, color, sound and shape.
Depression is the most common mental illness. It manifests itself in diagnosed depression as well as depressive episodes or winter depression. The symptoms are lack of energy, listlessness, sadness, indifference, loss of motivation, stress and a disturbed sleep-wake rhythm.
Sonum reduces symptoms of depression by using light to positively influence the body’s own messenger substances such as melatonin and serotonin. The audiovisual integration of colored light and stimulating sounds as well as the organic shape of the product promote concentration, relaxation and motivation. The customizable generation of Sonum takes place on the website, while the control of light and sound is possible via the associated app. Sonum represents an alternative form of therapy to conventional approaches.
