Hi, I’m Merle! Even as a child, I was magically drawn to my dad’s camera. Through my studies I first rediscovered photography and then film. Through my work I want to break down taboos, look behind the scenes and learn a lot of new things. My curiosity always makes me leave my comfort zone.

A one-shot to destigmatize abortion.

Abortion is still a taboo topic. And they will stay that way if we don’t start listening, asking questions and exchanging ideas. My film is an impetus for conversation. It deals with women’s right to self-determination, the oppressive feeling of having to meet the expectations of others and a lack of empathy.

From a personal approach, I developed the story of Milla, who invites you to a social evening with her friends. These are all in baby fever for different reasons. Before doing so, she takes a pregnancy test, two stripes appear, but she doesn’t want to be a mother at this point in her life.
