I have been passionate about communication design since I was a child. I am particularly interested in social and women’s rights issues. I completed my bachelor’s degree at Trier University, where I focused on the topic of the women’s movement of the 50s, 60s and 70s. The versatility of design projects – from the conception to the final design – fascinates me and brings me a lot of fun.

Combating female genital circumcision

Development of a workshop against female genital circumcision and for more education about female sexuality.

200 million girls and women worldwide are affected by female genital circumcision. This practice includes any procedure in which the female genitalia is partially or completely removed for non-medical reasons. In addition to the suppression of female sexuality and the practice of traditional initiation rites, ignorance and a lack of education play a major role. The goal of my master’s thesis is to develop a workshop that educates affected immigrants about the issue and convinces them not to have their daughters circumcised. I would like to address both the women affected and their male relatives.
