A life for art

In this project, Malte Hömberg photographically accompanies people who have dedicated their lives to art - despite all the hurdles.

How do you actually become a live painter or how is acting still fun even after 40 years? When does the body stop participating when you actually still want to be artistically active? How have dance floors changed over several decades of DJ career?

In the bachelor’s thesis “A Life for Art” Malte Hömberg portrays people who have decided not to work in a traditional job, but rather to live for art and to live out their own fascination with it – despite all the hurdles that the artistic Creating brings with it.
The personal connection to the different personalities resulted in very close and honest pictures.
