Hello! My name is Lisa Johanna Förster and I am an illustrator and author. I decided to study design to turn my passion for working creatively into a career. I fell in love with the craft of illustration and made it my mission to explore all its facets. I see illustration not only as my language through which I tell stories and create, but also as a future perspective for a fulfilled and inspired life.

BUBU - You are Us

An autofictional collection of stories in comic form, which tells about life with a disabled family member.

I was inspired to write “A Bubu Life” by my life with my physically and mentally disabled brother. The autofictional comic is both documentation and reflection and is based on 23 years of family life. Accessibility and humor create a first point of contact with the topic of disability. The readers get to know Pipo, Lila and Aveia. A small, happy family that lives peacefully together has its group dynamics shaken up as it grows. Bubu is not like the others, he is disabled and needs a lot of help and attention. Readers are provided with intimate insights into the now turbulent life of the small family, which grows through its challenges.
