Design has great power – and as designers we have a responsibility to use our design to advocate for the things that really matter.
Digital media is much more than just entertainment. If I can use new technologies like VR to make people think differently, then I have achieved my goal.
My design process is always influenced by the fact that my concepts are mixed with a great deal of enthusiasm for technology.

From Tusk till Dawn

An emotional virtual reality experience that raises awareness of the threat posed by poaching to African elephants.

If we don’t experience it ourselves, we don’t care. Disasters, climate change, poaching – problems that seem so far away that they don’t bother us. They feel like they only ever happen to “the others.” This is where the project comes in: In virtual reality we can experience what it must be like for a baby elephant to lose its mother to poaching and to be dependent on the support of the entire herd. VR brings the seemingly distant habitat of elephants to us and gives us the feeling of being a pachyderm ourselves. The literal change of perspective and the possibilities that the foreign body offers provide an unforgettable experience and encourage you to think about what is really worth protecting – our nature.
