As a designer, I strive to provide inspiring impulses that go beyond aesthetic visualization. Design is an instrument that playfully conveys information, ideas and emotions. I’m inspired by stories that seek to make an impact in compelling, innovative ways. For me, the small and large challenges of our society are equally important.
Color in Silence - A story based on H. D. Thoreau’s Ideas
An animated short film about the criticism of society's pressure to perform according to Henry David Thoreau.
Henry David Thoreau discovers a deep knowledge of himself and his needs in the silence of nature. In his book “Walden: Or Life In The Woods” he criticizes the emerging pressure to perform and the anti-capitalist ideals of his time. He advocates developing one’s own talents based on personal ambitions rather than complying with social demands.
Following Thoreau’s legacy, we follow an eel into the brooding lake ‘Walden Pont’. The eel discovers his artistic talent and the associated task of recognizing and drawing his own boundaries between artistic creation, wishes and the imposed pressure.
