For me, design not only has the meaning of being something innovative or translatable, but also of being able to break out of existing stereotypes, to initiate and to inspire. Design has enormous energy for change. Emotional and informative design are combined as an important component for honestly touching, understanding and acting on people and their values.
abSchnitt – about hair & identity
“abSchnitt” tells the story in magazine format about various intersections between hair and identity in the context of society and different cultures.
Hair is an integral part of our society and culture – self-realization, breaking away from the norm or living out self-consciousness. “abSchnitt” is a magazine that tells the diversity of identity and individual aspects of hair and its effects on people. So what deeper meanings does hair have in culture? How much self-worth, social pressure, prejudices and stories lie within them? “abSchnitt” brings diverse and personal voices to the surface, creates understanding and shows how intertwined hair and identity are.
