Hi! I’ve always loved drawing, and I’ve loved making up stories for almost as long. The two can come together in beautiful ways in animation and comics, and I strive to be a part of that. The expressive possibilities and variety of effects of these media are unimaginably great, which fascinates me both as a viewer and as a storyteller! 🙂

CHUPE

Ana cooks a dish whose taste brings back memories of the past. But not all of these memories are purely positive...

The short film “Chupe”, animated in a mixed form of 2D and 3D, deals with the emotional power that is inherent in the act of cooking and eating and with which we can be reminded of experiences that are sometimes long gone.
Ana tries to cook a multi-part dish, a chupe de hongos, with sopaipillas (pumpkin flatbreads) with a red salsa. Once she finds the perfect combination of ingredients for different parts of the dish, her memory wanders to places in her past that she associates with those flavors. Unfortunately, Ana also has negative memories associated with some flavor combinations. In the midst of her kitchen utensils, ingredients and spices, she is faced with the task of confronting and coming to terms with the past…
