Design is a large field in which you can express yourself in different ways. It offers plenty of space to experiment with the focal points. At the beginning I was sure that I only wanted to study illustration, but over the semesters I found out that I also had a great interest in media design. Animation is therefore the perfect mix to bring both focuses together. Design has always been a big inspiration for me. I hope that in the future I can appeal to and motivate people in the same emotional way with my design.
The Butterfly and the Cat - animated short film
A butterfly hunt that slowly turns into something dark.
In my short film, the audience should experience how an innocent kitten suddenly becomes an axe-wielding murderer. During my work I played a lot with clichés that are often used in old slasher films. The story is told from two perspectives, separated by different styles. There is the perspective of the murderer, who sees the world as colorful and innocent, and the perspective of the victim, who is trying to survive in the dark reality.
I’ve always had a great passion for horror and animation, and my bachelor’s project allowed me to combine both well.
