I am a portrait and documentary photographer and focus on socio-cultural storytelling. During my studies I tried things out and realized that interdisciplinary work is important in order to find new forms of narrative. I want to make topics visible that often seem invisible, but still concern my generation and me.

HOME IS HMBRGH, DIGGAH

Through visual narrative and aesthetic representation, this project aims to provide a space for reflection and dialogue about the complexity of the sense of home in a modern, globalized world.

“Home” explores the facets of the concept of home through visual stories and life in Hamburg. Through questions and dialogues, I show the duality between the discursive and evocative understanding of home in the context of a city and neighborhood culture. The project is not intended to represent those aspects that are traditionally associated with home, but rather to explore the emotional depth, personal connection and identity of each individual to his/her understanding of ‘home’. From urban landscapes to various districts and quiet places in Hamburg to intimate portraits, the images reflect the diverse nuances that shape the individual conception of home.
