Since I’ve always had a strong need to communicate my thoughts and quirky stories visually, it was clear to me that a course of study in which I learned exactly this again was perfect for me. Because that’s exactly what design means to me: telling stories visually. I think for me the highlights of my studies always consisted of both the people I got to know during my studies and the constant expansion of my skills.
K-TEN - The way to fame
Kirsten doesn't let anything or anyone stop her. Her pop star persona “K-TEN” is about to become a reality. An animated short film.
A 2D animated story about chasing a dream. It sounds cheesy – and it is. However, a classic “Follow Your Dreams” story is not necessarily what you can expect from my film. It is heartening to follow a narrative in which someone fights for their dream, come what may. There can be large crowds in the way or simply a cheeky spotlight. The main character, Kirsten, doesn’t let herself be deterred from achieving her dream of becoming famous and celebrated. The story is realistic, although at the same time it is greatly exaggerated. My goal was to illustrate Kirsten’s over-the-top passion. Through their actions, but also through the reactions of others. Some kind of fever dream.
